Mary Charlotte Vance
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Mary Charlotte Vance, age 98, of Joggins. Mary passed away peacefully with family by her side at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
Born in Five Islands, NS, Charlotte was a daughter of the late Oscar and Bertha (Webb) Eagles.
In her earlier years, she loved to go fishing, swimming, clamming, picking berries, picking coal. She attended all the ball games in Joggins, watching her 3 sons play for the Joggins Cubs where she enthusiastically cheered from the bleachers. As years went on, her hobbies changed to Bingo, playing cards and crib, and watching soap operas. She was a member of the Joggins Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She remained a huge baseball fan, watching every Toronto Blue Jays Game.
She will be sadly missed by her sons Charles (Marsha), Joggins, Bernie (Bernice), Joggins; daughter Violet (Roger) VanSnick, Joggins, Frances Carde, Amherst; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Sandra Vance, Amherst; several nieces and nephews; special friends Edith, Becky, Mike, Annie, Ruth and Robin.
Predeceased by her husband Andrew; son Gordon; daughter Mary; 1 grandson Andy; 2 infant children; son-in-law James Card; brothers Louis, Lloyd, Wilbert, Charlie; sisters Florence, Francis, Esther and Nell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777) where cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at River Hebert Cemetery (Latta), on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1 pm.

Charlotte's family wants to thank all the staff on the 2nd floor of Cumberland Health Care Centre and Dr. Dean Harrison.
