Abercrombie - Robert Kenneth Porter, age 85, of Abercrombie, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on July 14, 2017.
Bob was born in New Glasgow on May 19, 1932. He was the son of the late Albert Porter and Laura (Kennedy) (Porter) Anderson.
Bob’s greatest passion was using the incredible gift he was given to work with wood and, over the years, he created many beautiful projects. He enjoyed an enormous amount of satisfaction sharing this gift by crafting many unique and beautiful items for family and friends to enjoy.
Bob loved Abercrombie, yet, enjoyed travelling, and was fortunate to have seen several countries around the world. Bob, also, very much enjoyed time spent with family and friends at his camp on Christie Lake in Goshen.
Bob is survived by his wife, Fannie (Sinclair), daughter, Sherry (Jim) Cooper, grandson, Jamie, half-brother, Morgan (Patricia) Anderson, half-sister, Agnes (Sandy) MacPherson.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline Burnett and Patricia Fitzgerald.
A private graveside service was held at the Abercrombie Cemetery on July 17, 2017.
Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Abercrombie Cemetery.
