HUBBARD, M. Madeleine – age 92, The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, formerly of Wedgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2017 in the Meadows. Born July 2, 1925 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late John Roger and Marie Lucie (LeBlanc) Cottreau. She was a homemaker and a devoted caregiver to many children, seniors and priests. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting. She will be remembered as being a very charitable person. She is survived by a sister, Annie Cottreau and a brother, Clifford (Betty) Cottreau, both of Wedgeport, as well as many nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Hubbard, as well as by a sister, Estelle Boudreau and brothers, Charles, Leo, Lawrence and Arthur Cottreau. There was no visitation by request. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 18 from Saint Michael’s Church, Wedgeport, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Michael’s Church or Cemetery Funds. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth.
