Joan Blenkhorn
Joan Blenkhorn, age 85, passed away suddenly on July 15, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS. Born in Five Islands. Joan spent her working career as a school teacher in positions at Amherst, River Hebert and Springhill.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Chuck) of Amherst, Charles (Sandra) of Middle Stewiacke, Brian of St. Catherine; brothers Donald of Springhill, Leonard (Jane) of St. Catherines; grandchildren, Richard, Erin and Matthew and great grandchildren, Alice and Simon.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, parents, George & Jessie Selkirk, brother, Gerald.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS ( 902-667-8777). In keeping with Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Private family committal service will he held at a later date.
