It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden death in Fort McMurray, AB, on Friday, July 14th, 2017, of Stephen John Dawson age 56 years of Devon, AB and formerly of Albany, P.E. Born on June 16th, 1961, to his parents Erma and the late Bennett Dawson, Albany. Loving husband and best friend of Carolann (nee MacAuley) Dawson. Cherished father of Kayla, Nicholas, and Nathan, Stepfather of Rebecca, Chance, and Josh (Laurissa) Bevan and adored poppy to Aria, Emery, and Parker. Also left to mourn his loss are brothers and sisters Alan (Doris), Stratford; Brian (Cindy) , Albany; Blair (Pam), St. Nicholas; Sterling, Albany; Audra (Kevin) McCarville, Wilmot Valley; and Ruth (Jason), Alberton. Brother-in-law to Elaine DesRoches, Lorna Stewart, Barb (JP), David (Carol) and Charles (Yvonne) MacAuley. Stephen leaves aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who enjoyed being in his company. Welcoming him home are his father Bennett, brothers Dale and Scott and niece Meranda. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, with visitation on Sunday, July 23rd from 6- 8 p.m. Funeral service from Dawson Funeral Home Monday at 1 p.m. Interment in Free Church of Scotland Cemetery, Cape Traverse.
