SMITH, Erma Jane - age 92 of Central Argyle, Yarmouth County passed away August 3, 2017 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth, N.S. Born in North East Point on November 7, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Maude (Ross) Donaldson. She is survived by her husband of 73 years Harold. Erma loved quilting and spent most of her time doing this. She is survived by daughters Judy (Dwayne) Carey, Linda (Robert) Comeau, Joan (Stephen) d’Entremont, Colleen Bussard; sons Roger (Gaile) Smith, Gary (Rhoda) Smith; brothers John (Joan) Donaldson, Leland (Joan) Donaldson, Elbern (Sylvia) Donaldson, Paul (Brenda) Donaldson; sisters Iona Kenney and Helen Nickerson; 17 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Erma was predeceased by brothers Wallace, Wellington, Merle, Eugene and a sister Annis. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was a visitation Sunday, August 6th from 7-9 p.m. and the funeral service was held Monday, August 7th at 2 p.m. from Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Mr. James Eastwood officiated. Interment followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to charity of choice.
