Elna Eleanora Kristine Jensen of Moose Jaw, our beloved aunt and good friend to many, passed away peacefully on August 8th at Providence Place at the age of 102. Elna was born in Stærkende, near Copenhagen, Denmark on October 10th, 1914 and emigrated to Pense with her family in 1923. They settled in the Belle Plaine district and farmed there for over 60 years. Elna is pre-deceased by her parents, Hans and Dorthea Jensen, brothers Harry (Ethel) Jensen, brother Ernst, and brother Richard (Elsie) Jensen; sister Stella (Anders) Paulsen; niece Vivian Paulsen; nephews Ernest Paulsen and Richard Paulsen. Elna is survived by nieces Linda (Lyle) Stewart, Nancy (Jeff) Barber; nephews Svend Paulsen, Paul Jensen, Philip (Nikki) Jensen, Christian Jensen; as well as great- and great-great nieces and nephews. Elna dedicated her life to her family, the farm, and her church. In recent years, Elna led a very active life as a resident of the Bentley in Moose Jaw. She enjoyed reading novels and a good game of whist in the company of friends. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 11th, 2017 at 11:00 am at Central Lutheran Church, 27 Hochelaga St. W., Moose Jaw. Pastor Bill Cantelon will officiate. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Crescent Park Event Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw, following the service.
