Lieu de décès : Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Date de décès : 2 août 2017

Baby Thomas Cody Connatty, aged 36 days, passed away in Edmonton August 2nd, 2017.
Thomas was born in the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon June 28th with a hypoplastic heart. He was quickly taken to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.
Thomas underwent several surgeries where the miracle of life was eclipsed by the marvel of modern medicine. The doctors, nurses and technicians in both hospitals did everything possible to repair Thomas’s heart, to no avail.
After the initial surgery, the medical team in Edmonton said they were amazed that Thomas had even made into that surgery yet he came through it very well. He was a real fighter! An exemplary patient; healthy in every other way, a strong will to live and surrounded by love.
The nurses would jockey scheduling to get a shift with Thomas as he was so well natured. He was known by the medical team for giving “that look”. A glancing scowl he would cast whenever a nurse did something he didn’t like. “Oh, I know that look Thomas, this will only take a second”, the nurses would say. And once the ordeal was over he would return to his calm self.
Thomas had his parents by his side all day every day. He knew the touch of their hand’s and took comfort in hearing their voices. When awake his dad would touch his little hand, he would respond with a squeeze of Dad’s finger. In troubling moments, he would calm right down when Mom would rub his head. He had the sweetest tuft of hair that Mom kept in a perfect curl.
Thomas will be missed by his parents Cody and Mackenzie Connatty, his big sister Paisley and big brother Beckham, his grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
We are so grateful for all the prayers, unbelievable support and well wishes from so many friends.
The family would like to thank the medical teams in Moose Jaw and Regina for their prenatal care, the Obstetrics team and the Neonatal Intensive Care team in Saskatoon and Edmonton and special thanks to the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care team and the social workers in Edmonton. A big thank you to Ronald McDonald house and the Kinsmen Telemiracle Network.
Thomas will be laid to rest Friday at a private family funeral.
In leu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent in Thomas’s name to either The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House or the Kinsmen Telemiracle Network.
