William George “Bill” Cross age 79 of Willow Ave., New Glasgow passed away on August 10, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in St. John’s NFLD he was a son of the late Herb and Isabel Cross.
Bill was a resident of New Glasgow since 1974. He was a member and past general manager of the Abercrombie Golf Club and was actively involved for many years with Pictou County Y’s Men. He was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church in New Glasgow.
Bill worked as the Immigration Officer for Central Nova retiring after 36 years.
He is survived by sons Stephen (Rhona), their children Brendan and Hailey; Bill Jr., his children Alex and Emily and daughter Nancy (Dr. Kevin) MacLeod.
Bill was predeceased by his wife Bernice and a sister Patsy.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no service by request. Burial will take place in the Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
