Leslie Anne MacNeill
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie on July 6 at the Palliative Care Section of The Grace Health Centre in Toronto, with her loving, long time partner, Jorge Mendieta, by her side.
Leslie loved nature, good food, and good humour. Leslie kept you laughing with her charm and wit. She also had a passion for dancing and the theatre and attended numerous theatrical and dance performances in Toronto. She loved life, her good friends, travels over the years including Europe and Peru with Jorge, swimming at her swim club in Toronto, and swimming here, in the Northumberland Strait. Leslie loved Nova Scotia and returned for a period each summer to the family cottage which she enjoyed so much. Although having leukaemia in her teenage years she managed to overcome this, complete high school and graduate from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Leslie was determined to explore Canada and lived and worked in Calgary, Vancouver and Ottawa. She returned to University to complete a course in Public Relations after which she moved to Toronto where she worked in Sales and Marketing for Laicor Industries for several years. Leslie was predeceased by her father George Hubert MacNeill and by her sister Carolyn. She is survived by her partner Jorge Mendieta, mother Shirley (MacNeill) Haines and husband Frank, Amherst, sister Heather MacNeill, Field, B.C., aunts Pat (Ross) MacNeill, Moncton, N.B., Laurie (Leverett) Steeves, Shediac, N.B., Judy (Leslie) McInnis, Fenwick, Ont., their children, and nephew Angus MacNeill -Morrison, Field, B.C. Funeral Services were held at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, Toronto, Ont. July 14, 2017. Leslie will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
