Frances Theresa (Risk) McDermid
Frances passed away suddenly on August 20th, 2017 at the Pasqua Hospital (Regina), with her loving family at her side. Frances grew up in Sydney and was the daughter to the late Archie and Francis Risk.
Frances cherished her many visits to Cape Breton and her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, friends and especially her beloved grandchildren of whom she was so very proud. She is survived by her loving daughters, Sandra Shannon (Jeff) of Prince George and Carey Bailey (Daniel) of Regina; her loving grandchildren, Ryan (Kayley), Samantha, Kelsey, Abby and great-grandson, Theo; brothers, AJ, Art (Gayle), Eddie, Charlie and Ricky (late wife Mary); sisters, Elizabeth, Peggy Watts (Glen) and many beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Frances is predeceased by her brother, Joe and sisters, Winnie, Patsy and Millie.Cremation has taken place and service in Regina to be held Friday August 25th. Her ashes will be returned to Cape Breton and a service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care Unit.
