It is with deep sadness and broken hearts, that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Berkeley Keeping, 59 at home on August 23, 2017 with his loving family by his side.
Berkeley was born on November 4, 1957 in North Sydney, son of Gwendolyn (Taylor) and the late Berkeley Keeping.
Berkeley worked at Gillis Seafood, which he enjoyed and thought of them as family. He enjoyed gardening and carpentry, but most of all his family.
Berkeley is survived by his mother, Gwendolyn; his loving wife of 36 years, Cathy (Johnston); daughters, Crystal (Scott) and Gina; sons, Berkeley (Amanda), Matthew and Aaron; granddaughters, Emily and Miley; brothers, Clyde (Joanne), Kevin (Velvet); sisters, Alaine, Donna (Eddie), Elizabeth (Alan); mother-in-law, Yvonne Johnston; a number of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Berkeley Keeping; father-in-law, Willy Johnston and nephew, Jason Keeping.
Visitation for Berkeley will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday August 26th in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney with service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
