Mary Helen  Livingstone

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Helen Livingstone age 89 of Amherst announce her passing on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Granville Ferry, NS she was a daughter of the late Clifford N. and A. Blanche (Campbell) Rice.
In her younger years, Mary worked as a telephone operator for Maritime Tel and Tel in Annapolis Royal. She was a member of the Canso Curling Club, Amherst Curling Club, Amherst Golf Club, the Red Hat Society and the FlyWay Campers. Mary was also a member of Trinity St. Stephen’s United Church, Amherst and Unit 3 of the UCW.
Mary was a former volunteer at the gift shop at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
She and her husband Gerry enjoyed traveling with many of their friends and family and spent several winters in Florida.
Mary always enjoyed visits from and visiting with her friends and family.
She is survived by one daughter Alma (Tony) Doucette of Windsor, ON, one son John (Lorie) of Riverview, NB, four grandchildren Grant (Lina) Livingstone and Keri Lynn (Andrew) Savoy and Jessi (Chris Hart) and Jamie Doucette, three great grandchildren Brechan Livingstone, Paytra and Fin Savoy, two nieces Mary Lou (Rod) Peterson and Nancy Lea (Gary) Tucker and nephew Keith (Pam) Condon.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Gerry, brothers Donald, Walter and Sherman, sister Alma Condon and nephew Richard Condon.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 7 – 9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-9906)
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Campbell’s Chapel with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Interment will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Cumberland County Hospice Society, Gables Lodge Residence Council Fund or the charity of your choice.
