Lieu de décès : Canada

Jeanne Marie Geraldine Bernadette Bourque of Wolfville, at the age of 60 passed away peacefully on August 28th 2017. Jeanne was proud of her Acadian heritage and was the youngest daughter of Albertine (LeBlanc) and Joseph Bourque. She is survived by her husband Rick Dyer, step daughter Julie, step son Sean ( wife Adria) her sisters Marion (Toronto), Phyllis (Dartmouth), nephews Scott and Matthew Greer (BC), grandnieces Teyva and Rachel, and grandnephew Liam. Her formative years were spent in Amherst where she made many friends and spent her summers at the family cottage in Tidnish where she fell in love with the sand, shells, sunsets and ‘Crab Island’. Jeanne spent some years in Canada’s north, worked for non-profit organizations, was an entrepreneur and in their later years, she cared for both of her parents. She ended her working career as a planner for the Municipality of West Hants.
Throughout her life she believed in buying local, had concerns with climate change, loved cats [Humbug and Samantha], and enjoyed numerous Woman’s Weekends. She was passionate with any endeavor or cause that she committed to. Four years ago Jeanne was introduced to the game of golf. That passion surfaced again. She was hooked and spent many fun filled hours on the course with Rick. Jeanne was also a researcher and investigated her crohns and cancer diagnosis. She knew the road ahead and the path she wanted to take and did it with eyes wide open, a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She was a passionate advocate of Bill C-14 and the Medical Assistance in Dying [M.A.I.D.] program in Nova Scotia and chose to initiate M.A.I.D. at her end of life with the blessings of her family and decided to donate her body to Medical Science at Dalhousie University. It was her Last Hurrah!
Over the last two and a half years Jeanne created a Blog which was a beautiful and informative record of her journey. It can be found at jeannemariebourque.wordpress.com. A *Celebration of Her Life* will take place at the Wolfville Baptist Church, 487 Main Street Wolfville on Saturday Sept. 9th, 2017 at 2:00pm. Reception to follow. Please bring your stories and reflections of Jeanne to share. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
Carpe Diem!
