David passed away peacefully with family by his side in Kamloops, BC where he spent the last month of his journey through life. During his early years David excelled in multiple sports with hockey being his first love. This love carried him to a tryout with the Chicago Black Hawks at the age of 16. Scholarships followed and David had a stop in Kimberly, BC to play for the Dynamiters. David returned home to Moose Jaw and met his sweetheart Frances who he married in 1954 and started a family the following year. With 2 kids in tow David & Frances moved to Saskatoon in 1957 to further his career in the Optical Industry. As the family and career continued to grow the next stop was Vancouver in 1971. In 1995 with career behind him and family grown up David and Frances made the journey back home to Moose Jaw to spend their golden years. In these golden years David rekindled his passion with the game of golf becoming an active member at the Lynnbrook Golf and Country Club. This passion became a second career for the remaining 22 years of David’s journey. Predeceased by his father and mother Floyd and Hazel, father and mother in-laws Harry and Doris, sister in-laws Kay, Fern and brother in-law Harvey. David loved his family dearly and was especially proud of his six grand children. Left behind to mourn his loss is his loving wife of 63 years Frances, sister Anne, children Terry (Fran), Brian (Kim), Brent (Cathy), Linda Jane (Steve). Grandchildren Megan (Conan), Jeremy (Kelsey), Anthony (Rebecca), Daniel, Jacob (Sara) and Jessica. Marilynn, Deanne, Mike, Flo and all the rest of his large and caring family. A private family service will take place at a later date.
