GARY FRANCIS NOONAN
It is with overwhelming sadness we say goodbye to our dear brother, Gary Francis Noonan, aged 62. Gary passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after a courageous 16-month fight with cancer, on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
Born in Sydney, Gary was the son of the late Frank and Betty Noonan. He worked at the Sydney Airport first under the department of Transport for 20 years and under the Sydney Airport Authority until the time of his death.
Gary is survived by his brothers and sisters, Shirley (Ken) Berry, Bedford, Clara (Aubrey) Goyetche, Linus (Karen) Sydney, Rosie (Charlie) Chiasson, Lower Sackville, Maria Snow, Ottawa, Michael (Lynn), Hammonds Plains and Mary (Mike) MacPhee, Sydney.
Gary loved his nieces and nephews, Kristy, Matthew, Robbie (his little buddy), Ashley, Emily, Jacob, Derek, Luke, Alex, Andrea, Ben, Elizabeth, Danica and great nieces and nephew, Lexie, Mason and Brielle. Gary is also survived by his aunts, Catherine Anne MacKenzie, Josie Small, Sydney River; Jemima MacNeil, Hamilton and uncle, Mickey MacNeil, Jamesville.
Gary will be forever missed and in the thoughts of his brothers and sisters. He was the most wonderful brother we could have had and we are honoured that we made this courageous journey with Gary over the last 16 months. His strength over this time will stay with us always.
Visitation will take place Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
Memorial service to take place Monday, September 11th at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church, 135 Victoria Rd., Sydney, with Fr. Paul Murphy to officiate.
