Gary Shaun ‘Pinhead’ MacKinnon

It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Shaun ‘Pinhead’ MacKinnon announce his passing on September 12, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. He was a son of Percy and Georgina (Cluett) MacKinnon of Louisbourg. Besides his parents, he is survived by daughter, Olivia; brother, Doug, and sister-in-law, Beverley and their children Tyler and Cameron. He also leaves behind uncles, Clarke (Diana), Winston (Vera) and Aunt Lena, as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends.
Shaun is predeceased by maternal grandparents, Grace Fiander and George Cluett, and paternal grandparents, Thomas and Edna MacKinnon.
Shaun was a heavy equipment operator with Peters Construction and Beaver's Transfer. He was heavily involved with the local fishing community.
Visitation will take place 7-9 p.m. Friday in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
