MACK, Karen Anne — 54, of Waseca, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Lloydminster Hospital surrounded by her loving family and best friend Doris Frost. Karen lived her life not worrying about the hardships that came along but focused on the lives we touch along the way. Born in Windsor, Nova Scotia on September 29, 1956, she lived the majority of life in Hantsport, touching people’s lives not only with her beautiful voice but with her loving ways where ever she was. She was employed as a waitress starting out at R&G’s in Hantsport where she was known for her hugs, red lipstick kisses and songs for special occasions. She spent the last 11 years in Saskatchewan with her companion Toby Cochrane continuing to work as a waitress touching many lives. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by grandparents James and Leora (Tracey) Vaughan, and Mackenzie and Ethel (Bond) Grimm, and her first husband, Lionel Hiltz. She is survived by her parents Leo and Joyce (Grimm) Vaughan, of Hantsport; second husband, Blaine Mack, soul mate, Laurie (Toby) Cochrane, of Waseca, Sask.; daughters, Amanda Brown, of Hantsport, Brenda Hiltz (Bruce Berry), of Grand Pre; son, Caleb Mack (Tara Schofield), of Hantsport; step-daughter, Erika Cochrane (Adam Pifko), of Edmonton, A.B.; three grandchildren: Michaela and Mackenzie Brown, Taylor Shay; sisters, Terry Rawlins, Kim Vaughan, Jackie (Tim Pitts), Margie (Doug Schurman), Cassandra (Craig Shay); brother, Edward (Tammy) Vaughan; as well as many nieces and nephews. Thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors who so lovingly cared for Karen during her illness. Your kindness and compassion meant so much to her family during this time. A special thank you to Dr. Kerlis. Arrangements for cremation were handled by Creech’s Funeral Home, in Lloydminster. A Celebration of Life service was held at the Baptist Church in Hantsport on Monday, April 18 at 2 p.m. with a reception following in the church hall. Pastor Dan Jamer officiated. Karen will be laid to rest in Riverbank Cemetery.

As gentle soft winds blow,
The angels wings have flown me home.
Weep not for me for I am free,
In Jesus’ arms I’ll wait for thee.
