RICHARD, MARIE - Marie E. Richard of Ti Bons Soins, Shediac passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton 8 days shy of her 95th birthday following a sudden illness. Born in Barachois, April 27th, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Pierre Amédée and Marguerite (Boudreau) Babineau. Besides being a housewife, she was employed for 18 years as a wood craftman with Nicholson & Son Co in Burlington, ON prior to her retirement. She attended St. Joseph R.C. Church and was a member of the Shediac Golden Age Club. A passion of hers was making Christmas decorations of all kinds and selling them to donate the funds to different charities. She also loved to assemble quilts. She was a very caring person and took good care of her sick neighbors as if she was a nurse. Marie will be sadly missed by her two sisters: Hélène LeBlanc of Shediac and Rita Martineau of Charlesbourg, QC and by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Fabien (March 6, 1986), three sisters: Adrienne Bourque, Edna LeBlanc and Anna Melanson and by eight brothers: Alfred, Léo, Hervé, Clarence, Gérard, Albert, Louis and Camille Babineau.
Visitation at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac, N.B. E4P 2G1 (532-3297) on Thursday, April 21st from 7 to 9p.m. ONLY. Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Ste. Thérèse d'Avila R.C. Cemetery, Cap Pelé.
