K. Bruce Pearson

K. Bruce Pearson

PEARSON, K. Bruce – 66, Valley. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, step father, brother and grandfather, Bruce Pearson, on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Beryl (Atkinson) Pearson. As a teenager, Bruce delivered newspapers for Truro Daily News and then continued to work with them in many capacities over the years and retired as Advertising Manager. In earlier years, he went through the ranks of Cubs and Scouts and was also a leader. He coached fastball in Truro for over 20 years and loved camping at Hidden Hilltop with his wife and their many friends, especially, Bobby Richard. An avid musician and story teller, Bruce took great pleasure in entertaining and bringing joy to family and friend at the campground, seniors at various nursing homes and many others; although his stories were true, they were quite often elaborated on each time they were told! Bruce is survived by his wife, Patti (Allen); step children, Sean (Mei) Murray, United Arab Emirates; Cyndy Murray, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Malehya Brooks-Murray, Haiden Murray-Smith; brothers, Harry (Cindy) Pearson, Bible Hill; Mark (Lois) Pearson, Masstown; nieces, Melanie (John) Buckler, Masstown; Tanya Pearson, Truro; nephews, Jason Pearson, Glenholme; Jeffrey Pearson, Halifax. Special thanks are extended to VON, EHS and the nurses and doctors in the Emergency Department and the Palliative Care Team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Bruce’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017, and funeral service 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017, Reverend Glenn MacLean officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Bruce’s memory to Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC), Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro (General Fund) or charity of choice are welcomed. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Bruce’s obituary on-line and selecting “Send A Condolence” at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com
