On Sunday, September 24, Patricia Anne MacKinnon (Matheson), 78, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born on July 27, 1939 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. She spent her life dedicated to serving others, which included many years working at Alderwood nursing home. She loved her family, with whom her relationship was deeply meaningful, and she never stopped praying and caring for them all. She was sustained by a profound, lifelong faith in Jesus Christ, who she is home with now.
Patricia is survived by her children, Michele MacDonald and her husband Danny MacDonald, Melissa White and Grant MacKinnon; her special niece, Cindy Zettek (MacLean); her grandchildren, April, Joshua, Jordan, Rebekah, Kelsey, Michael, Brandon, Ashlee, Allison and Amy; her great-grandchildren, Lucas and Isabella, and her cousin, Rev. Gael Matheson.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Dougal and Edna Matheson; her sister, Margaret MacLean (Matheson), and her sweet niece, Sheila MacLean.
Visitation will take place at 1 Friday and a memorial service will follow at 2 with Pastor Noel Malle officiating - both in the SW Chant and Son Funeral Home. A time of reception and fellowship will follow.
Patricia’s family would like to thank Palliative Care and Victoria Order of Nurses for their daily love and care during the past months.
