Our precious Angel died suddenly at home, 73 MacAulays Lane, as she prepared herself for her daily routine. Left to grieve are her sisters, Tammy DeLazzer (Sydney), Rhonda Head (Alberta), Paula Head (Glace Bay) and Valerie Caume ; brother, Tom Head (Sydney), her father, Peter Head (Port Morien) Also her nieces & nephews, Nitishia, Nigel, Dakota, Jared, Kayden, Coby & Keegan, special friend Barry Budge, as well as many family and friends at Resi-care and Horizon Achievement Center. Bernadette was predeceased by her mother, Freda Head and sister, Beth Head. She was predeceased by her grandparents as well.
Bernadette (Detsa) was special in so many ways from her whistle to her laughter. She was involved with the Special Olympics; she loved 1970’s classics, her trips to Tim Hortons, pizza & green pop. She drew people into her world with her smiles and her hugs; she had a mind of her own.
Visitation will take place Monday October 2nd from 12-2 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra Street. A Celebration of Bernadette’s life will take place immediately following, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel, Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to Resi-Care or the Horizon Achievement Centre.
