Andrew Reid MacLeod

Andrew Reid MacLeod, age 81, of Hammonds Plaines, NS passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017 after a short visit at the hospital with his loving wife at his side at the QEII.
Born in Sydney, NS October 10, 1935 he was the son of the late John Alexander MacLeod and the late Sarah Margaret McLean.
Retired CPO2, Navy Electrician, with approximately 33 years of service known as REDDOG. He worked at Promaxis, Irving and Douglas Securities to name a few. He was a lifelong Royal Canadian Legion member and past president of Legion branch 554 Rockland, ON. Andrew loved hunting, fishing, camping, and always had time for family and friends. He always opened his heart and home to others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Johnson) MacLeod of Hammonds Plains, NS; sons, Andrew Scott (Lori), John, William, Chris (Angele) and Charles (Amanda); daughter, Anne Marie; 14 grandkids; three great grandkids; loving brother, Harvey (Barb) of Sydney, and his nephew.
No visitation, cremation entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Homes Sackville. Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 7 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 162, 45 Sackville Cross Rd., Lower Sackville, NS, B4C 2M2, from 1-4, small service from 1-2, followed by celebration of life from 2-4. Please come raise a glass to the life of Andrew.
