John (Jackie) Frederick Richards

John (Jackie) Frederick Richards, 82, of Glenvale passed away Monday October 2, 2017 at the Moncton Hospital with family at his side. Born in Roseville P.E. he was a son of the late Alfred and Lena (Burke) Richards. For many years he worked at Walsh Farm in Coverdale until he was able to realize his dream of owning and opearating his own farm, 'Windy Creek Holsteins' which he ran with his sons until retirement. Happiest with a house full of family and friends who he could tease he was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. Survived and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 59 years Mildred nee Smith daughters, Nancy Blakney (Trent) of Salisbury, Jacqueline Taylor (Chris) of Shediac Cape, sons Robert (Betty) and Christopoher of Glenvale, grandsons that he was very proud of, Rylan and Braden Blakney. Survived also by sisters Brenta Arsenault (late Nazaire), Sarah Arsenault (late Ralph), Camilla Gallant (late Eugene) all of Summerside and sister in law Rose Mae Richards of Oromocto, a brother Sydney Richards of Summerside and by several nieces and nephews and a lifelong friend Lorne Roberts of Kinkora . Predeceased by an infant son Michael and a brother Daniel. Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Route 106 (372-4800), from where visitation will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 6-8 p.m. and funeral in the Chapel Thursday at 11a.m. with Rev. Charles Broderick officiating. Interment at the Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Karen Silver and the nurses of the 5400 wing at the Moncton Hospital.
