NICKERSON- Randall Everett came into this world on March 13, 1928 in Carleton, Nova Scotia. He slipped away on October 3, 2017 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born the 13th child of Roy and Natalie Nickerson on the 13th day of March at 13:13, and as such, always thought the number 13 to be good luck. He had a smile that invited you to join in the joke, a dry sense of wit, a brilliant memory that produced stunning versions of Robert Service poems and a firm belief in the goodness of his fellow man. He grew up hunting and fishing and kept doing these until he no longer enjoyed them. He was a gentle, humble man. He served his country in the Armed Forces for many years, served his church at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, served in the Masons, served his community in so many different ways, and always served up a fine meal. He played and enjoyed numerous sports, but once he and his wife joined the Clare Golf Club, that was his sport of choice. He enjoyed some measures of success but found more enjoyment caddying for, and watching his wife play in many championship moments. He had met his match in Patricia Mary Horton, daughter of Robert and Jean Horton of Yarmouth, and through thick and thin, celebrated 64 years of marriage. This marriage produced three sons, Robert, Richard (Nura) and Russell (Kristina) who in turn delivered 7 grandchildren; Darcy, Leslie (Tyler), Everett (Roxy), and Timothy; Sarah and Ian and Nuralene. Those grandchildren produced 4 great grandchildren; Ethan (Darcy), Emerald, Lakai (Leslie) and Dexter (Everett). His funeral service was held Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Yarmouth, Rev. Douglas Chard officiated. Burial took place at the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. A reception followed in the church hall. His presence in this life will be truly missed. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweenys Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Online condolences may be left at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net, or you may sign the guestbook at sweenysfh@eastlink.ca.
