It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Estwick of Glace Bay. Margaret passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Born in Glace Bay, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Caroline (Jackson) Brewster.
Margaret was a member of St. Anne's Church. Her family was everything to her. She enjoyed playing darts and listening to music. She also took great pride in her gardening and spoiled her family with her many delicious meals and baking skills.
She will be sadly missed by her loving and caring children, Barbara (who resided with her mother), Margaret, Joseph (Susan), all of Glace Bay and Walter (Jenny), BC, and sister, Cecilia Cormier, Sydney. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, and five generations of great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her.
Besides parents, Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph; children, Mary, Julia, Marilyn and Joan; brothers, Raymond, Sidney ‘Sandy’, Jerome and Joshua, and sister, Elsie.
Visitation for Margaret will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25 at St. Anne's Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church foyer. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
