LESLIE, DAVID W. - 1939-2011 - Miramichi - David Wallace Leslie, husband of Beatrice J. Leslie, of Ferry Road, Miramichi, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital, on monday, April 25, 2011, at the age of 71. Born in Chatham, on August 13, 1939, he was the son of the late Percy and Phoebe (Stewart) Leslie. He was a retired employee of Hotel Dieu Hospital, Chatham, working as a cook. He attended St. Samuels Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi; a member of #1219 Council, Knights of Columbus, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Beatrice J. Gilliss; one daughter, Kathy Purcell (Scott), of Riverview; one son, Scott Leslie (Connie Daley), of Miramichi; three grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Leslie and Michael Purcell; one sister, Kathleen Carew (Bob), of Montreal; two sisters in law, Carmel Leslie and Edna Leslie, both of Miramichi; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Francis Leslie; two brothers, Donald and John Leslie.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Samuels Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi, on Friday, April 29, 2011, at 11 am, with Father Maurice Swift officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery, later in the spring. Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon, at 2:30 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
