Donald Jerome MacIsaac, 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. S.G. Duke and Sally (MacLeod) MacIsaac; two brothers, Lionel J ‘Web’ MacIsaac of Toronto and Dr. Greg ‘Duke’ (Claudette Cameron) MacIsaac of Boynton Beach, Florida.
He is survived by one brother, John Lorne (Katie MacDonald) MacIsaac of London, Ontario.
Popularly known as ‘Donald Duke’, he served as a member of Council in District 11 representing the people of Big Pond and East Bay for more than 14 years. He also served as the County’s representative on the school board for several terms including all committees. He was a former resident of Glace Bay, Big Pond and My Cape Breton Home for Seniors in Westmount.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Interment will be in St. Anne's Cemetery, Glace Bay at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 2.
