Doreen Branton

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mom, Doreen Branton, at the young age of 80 years. Predeceased by her loving husband, Clayton Branton, her Parents James & Sarah Reid, her in-laws, Richard & Eva Branton, brothers Harry Reid, Richard Thorne, Winston Thorne & Charles Thorne. Mom lived & enjoyed life to the fullest every day. From going out in the boat, to eating out at restaurants (especially Chinese restaurants & Montys') & she especially enjoyed her days spent with 2 of her sisters, a.k.a. The Golden Girls. She knit for Nonia in St. Johns for 50 years & her many sweaters, mitts & socks are seen, likely all over the world. Mom was a member of the United Church choir & was also a lifetime member of the UCW & supported & enjoyed the church greatly. She was also an avid "Skipbo" player & loved a game of bingo. Resting at the Faith United Church, Thornlea. Laid to rest at Faith United Church, Thornlea. Funeral service will be Thursday November 9, 2017 at 2pm. Donations in her memory can be made to the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre.
Special thanks to Rev. Linda Goy-Flint for her prayers & continued support through this difficult journey. And many thanks to Dr. Squibb, Dr. Kamran & Leslie Higdon (RN) for their professionalism, kindness, expertise & smiles that gave Mom hope & made her fight just a little bit easier. We will look for you
among the stars
And each dawn's pastel sky,
And whisper words of love to you,
But never say goodbye.

Until we meet again Mom.
