Enid Marion Johnstone
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Enid Marion Johnstone, announce her passing on November 12, 2017.
Enid lived a long and active life, working at Wright’s Furniture until its closure and then at Oak Hall. She lived for 94 years at the family home, 31 Forbes Court before moving into Parkland. She enjoyed walking, swimming, skating, cross-country skiing, playing cards, travelling, the casino and spending time with family and friends at the bungalow in East Bay. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Robert (Marilyn) Johnston, Phylis (Walter) Lecher, Eric ‘Sandy’ Johnston, Linda (David) Williams, Jean (Blaine) Knott, Fred (Lee) Johnston; four grandnieces and seven grandnephews and 15 great-grandnieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Robert R. Johnston; mother Annie May Johnston (Barker); brothers Robert, Fredrick and Alexander. She was the last member of her immediate family. A celebration of Enid’s life will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 17 at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra Street, Sydney, Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate. Donations in Enid’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
