Elsie Chuey
The family of Elsie Chuey are saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Sherbrooke Community Centre. Elsie is survived by her sisters Vicky (Morris) Sadlowski, Anne (Bent) Sorensen and Jane (Garth) Horn; her brothers John (Rita) Chuey, Walter (Judy) Chuey and Paul (Pat) Chuey; sisters-in-law Helen Chuey and Olga Chuey and numerous extended family. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Nellie Chuey, brothers Bill and Orest, and niece Cathy Hnatiw. Elsie was born June 10, 1942 at Brooksby, SK. She completed her grades 1 – 10 at New Maryville School. She attended the Academy Presentation of Mary in Prince Albert, SK for Grades 11-12. Elsie graduated from the Saskatoon Teachers' College in 1961. She taught in the Prince Albert Separate School System until 1983. She went on long-term disability due to the debilitating effects of diabetes. At the time of her passing Elsie was residing at Sherbrooke Communi
ty Centre in Saskatoon. Her family sincerely thanks the staff at Sherbrooke for their exemplary care and attention to Elsie. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Fr. Jeff Stefaniuk as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Southhill Cemetery, Prince Albert, SK.
