It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter MacLean of Malignant Cove, Antigonish which occurred on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Halifax. He was born in New Richmond, Quebec on April 27, 1935 to the late Dr. Charles and Gertrude (Henderson) MacLean.
Peter is survived by his loving wife Patsy (Grant) MacLean; sons Rory MacDonald, Stellarton, NS; Stuart (Melanie) MacLean, Pine Tree, NS; Roddy MacLean, Kentville, NS; Doug (Linda) MacDonald, Lower Sackville, NS; daughters Mora MacLean (John Donahue) Seaforth, NS; Alison MacLean (Jerome Chisholm) Antigonish, NS; and Carolyn (Robert) MacDonald, Antigonish, NS; sister Dorothy Bryant, New York; grandchildren Sandy (Adam Bell), Tim, Jill, Isac, Maura, Mason, Broghan, Hannah, Mollie, Alexander, Ben and Charlie; and great-grandson Levi.
Peter also leaves behind many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Mary Campbell, and daughter-in-law, Kathy MacDonald.
Peter loved being surrounded by family discussing many topics. He loved his Scottish heritage and playing a tune on his beloved fiddle. He always made people feel at ease with his keen sense of humour.
There will be no visitation by request. A celebration of Peter’s life will be held at a later date.
