Charlie Kublek

Lieu de naissance : Glace Bay, Nouvelle Ecosse
Date de naissance : 19 août 1943

Lieu de décès : Halifax, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de décès : 24 novembre 2017

On November 24, 2017 the world became a lesser place, as Charlie Kublek left this earth to be with his wife in heaven. While family held his hand and surrounded his bedside, Charlie peacefully passed away at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.
There was no man like him on this planet. He was a gentleman who cherished his wife, Sandra, until the very moment she left him to be with Jesus. That was four short months ago, and Charlie has missed her every day since. If you believe that people can die of a broken heart, then that is exactly what happened to him. Charlie is at peace now, and he and Sandra are once again reunited.
Charlie was born August 19, 1943, Glace Bay NS, to the late Charles & Eleanor Kublek (Proctor). At the age of 17 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy Naval Air Service as an aircraft maintenance technician. During his 25-year career, he sailed on HMCS Bonaventure, HMCS Ottawa, and enjoyed postings to CFB Goose Bay and 12 Wing Shearwater where he retired as a Master Warrant Officer. He went on to dabble in entrepreneurship as the owner of a general store & gas bar located in Meagher’s Grant, NS. While managing this family-run business, he also worked at IMP and after 17 years he finally retired.
In his retirement, he and Sandra ‘moved home’ to Irish Vale where he passionately tended to his flower beds, shrubs, and trees, creating a yard that would rival Halifax’s Public Gardens. Over the last few years his focus changed to caring for his ailing wife, a task that was completed to an exacting standard.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Tracey (Ross); son, Charles (Rhonda); grandchildren, Chandler, Ryan, Brianna, and Raeleigh; sisters, Ellen Ann MacIntosh (Rodney); and Priscilla Latimer (Allan). He was predeceased by his youngest sister, Alice Marie Pyke (Daniel).
He was a loving & devoted husband, father, grandfather, mentor and all-around great friend to everyone he met. He will be missed forever and a day.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Pond. Fr Richard Philipolski officiating.
A reception will follow at the Fire Hall next to the church. Interment will follow the reception.
