Born in Glace Bay on November 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Veronica (Lollie) and Leo O’Neill.
She was employed in her earlier years at various grocery stores in Glace Bay and later became a foster parent opening her heart and her home to numerous foster children over the years. She was a wonderful homemaker and took great pride in everything she did. She was a hard worker and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She had a very outgoing personality with a hearty laugh who touched hearts of all who knew her.
Elaine was a member of St. Anne’s Parish, Glace Bay, Carmelites, and a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Birch Grove Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Both her and Jeanie enjoyed many visits to Tim Hortons socializing with friends.

A very sincere heartfelt thank you to the staff of Northside Community Guest Home for their kindness, love and support not only to our mother, but to us, the family. You went above and beyond and you will always, each and everyone of you, be held closely in our hearts.
