FEVENS, Phyllis Frances- age 97 of Overton passed away on December 7, 2017 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. Born April 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Maude (Jeffery) Durkee. Phyllis is survived by five daughters, Sherrell Smith, Hamilton, ON; Gloria (Wayne) Akin, Nictaux ; Delores (John) Spencer, Wolfville; Gail (Douglas) Brown, Casey Corner, Kings Co; Jennifer (Wayne) Cushing, Pembroke, Yarmouth Co; sons, Douglas, Halifax; James (Merle), Overton, Yarmouth Co; 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several great great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, S. Guy Fevens; daughter in infancy, Heather; brother, Douglas Durkee. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Friday, December 8, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2 P.M. in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tim Turpin officiated. Interment followed in Chegoggin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the I.W.K, Faith Memorial Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
