Espie (nee Purdie), Ailsa Alexia Christine in her 88th year on December 3rd, 2017, in London, Ontario. She was born in Sheffield, England on May 19th, 1930. Ailsa was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 52 years, Dr. Thomas Henry Espie, and her son Paul Henry. Ailsa was a kind and compassionate woman who happily traveled the world with her husband and five children to such far away places as The Mariana Islands, The Northwest Territories, Colorado, The Kootenays, Newfoundland, Ontario and Quebec. She was much loved and will be missed by her four surviving children, Anne Strickland (Harry), Gillian, Richard and Michael. Grandchildren, Harry (deceased), Sara, Virginia, Sheldon, Darcy, Rhys, Warren, Jimmy, Dysson, Thomas and Maxwell. Special thanks to all the caring and dedicated staff at the Dearness Home. Memorial donations in Ailsa's name can be made to the Dearness Home (710 Southdale Road East, London). Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Forest Road Anglican Cemetery, St. John's, Newfoundland.
