It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Malcolm MacLeod on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the An Cala Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney on March 25, 1935 he was the son of the late Malcolm and Mary Ann (Doolan) MacLeod.
A lifelong resident of Grand Lake Road, Dad worked for the Department of Transport at the Sydney Airport in the maintenance garage until his retirement. An avid hockey fan, he enjoyed his nightly game on TV with his little friend “Buddy”. He also looked forward to his morning drives throughout various communities within the CBRM. We never know where we would see his “little car”.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cathy; sons, Terry (Lynette), Greg (Laura), Patrick and Brian (Jolene); sisters, Mary McNeil and Florence MacLeod, and grandchildren, Breton, Lauryn, Brian, Jenna, Jonathan, Matthew and Emily, along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Danny, Murray and Cletus.
The Family wishes to thank the nursing staffs of the Intensive Care Unit, 4C and the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their dedicated care and compassion over the past few weeks. We would also like to thank “Sis’s girls” for being there for our family through this difficult time. We are all truly grateful for your love and support.
