John David McManaman , age 64 years of Leamington, Cumb. Co., NS, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center.



Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late J. Emmett and Helen P. (Drillio) McManaman.David loved sports, playing darts, baseball, softball and hockey. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating. In his younger years he was a member of the Canadian Air Force, then spent 32 years working for Corrections Canada in Dorchester and Springhill. He was a past president of the Royal Canadian Legion. A friend to all, David was always there with a helping hand.



He will be sadly missed by his wife the former Marilyn Willigar, Leamington; daughter, Virginia McManaman (Jody Morris), Amherst; brother, Peter (Frances) McManaman, Amherst Shore; sisters, Cynthia (William) Brooks, Amherst and Ann Jones, Riverview, NB; several nieces and nephews.



Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be from the funeral home on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the Leamington Cemetery.
