Conrad "Connie" Roberts
Conrad "Connie" Roberts, 81 years of age, of Joggins, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Born in River Hebert, he was a son of the late Roy & Hanna (Kay) Roberts.
He worked as a Miner for over 20 years. He worked in the woods for many years and was a bartender for the River Hebert and Joggins Legions. He loved curling, hunting, and enjoyed going for drives. He loved gardening and grew everything and anything he could.
He will be sadly missed by sons, Frank (Doreen), Amherst, Kenny (Kelly), Joggins, Joseph (Donna), Sunrise Trail, daughter Bonnie Roberts (Bill McClary), River Hebert, grandchildren, Ashley Brown (Kevin) , Kyle Brown, Jason LeBlanc, great granddaughters , Harper & Haisley Brown; brother Melvin (Debbie), ON, sister Myrtle (Winston) of Amherst.
He was predeceased by his wife, Stella, a daughter Margaret Emelia, son, Clifford, brothers Eldon and Ronald and sisters Marie, Esther, Betty.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert, NS (902-251-2877), where visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm with a memroial service by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #14 River Hebert at 6 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. Burial to take place in the Maccan Presbyterian Cemetery in the spring.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Brian Ferguson.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Maccan Presbyterian Cemetery, or the charity of your choice.
