The family of Helen Irene Ferguson is saddened to announce the death of their mother. Mom passed away peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility following a lengthy illness.
Born in Sydney on November 12, 1932, she was the youngest daughter of the late Calvin and Mary Embree.
Mom was employed for many years with the former Maritime Telegraph and Telephone as a telephone operator, and later worked in the business office. Mom was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Mom is survived by her children, Katherine (Graham) Gagne, Kenneth (Linda), Keith (Carol), Alan (Neila) and Alexander (Sherri). Nana is survived also by her grandchildren, Jared, Emma, Matthew, Andrew, Josh, Jordan and Embree, and great-grandchild, Myles. Mom is also survived by her loving sister, Elizabeth Weeks and her brother, Hector Embree.
As well as her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband, John Neil; sister, Christine Weeks; and brothers, George and Donald.
As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service for Mom will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bethel Presbyterian Church Organ Repair Fund, or a charity of your choice.
The family wishes to thank the staff of MacDougall Court for their excellent and compassionate care shown to Mom and her children while she resided with you and especially during these past few weeks.
