The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, December 23, 2017, of Thelma Nicholson (nee Gill), in her 93rd year. She was a resident of Clinton View Lodge and formerly of New Glasgow, P.E.I. She was the spouse of William Nicholson and daughter of the late William and Mae Gill of Kensington, P.E.I. Thelma was the mother of Brian, Blaine, Donnie (Cathy), Donalda Wheatley (Sheldon), Barry, Gary (Valerie), Sandra Sobey (Gordon), Carl (Sandra Skeffington), Darren and birth mother of Doug Gill (Irene); and loving grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thelma is also survived by her sister, Erma Turner (Garnett); brothers, Ivan Gill (Arlene) and Allison Gill (Mary); sister-in-law, Juanita Gill; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Leard (Heath), Minnie Davis (Ernest); and brother, Linwood Gill. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow for visitation on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Interment later in New Glasgow Cemetery.
