MURPHY, John – Mr. John Gerald Murphy on Friday December 29, 2017 at Heartwood Long Term Care at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Yolande Murphy (née Glaude). Son of the late Robert and Mary (née Cunningham) Murphy. Loving father of Mary (Michael), John (Nancy), Paul (Anne-Marie) and Natalie (Les). Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Emily, Claire, Veronica and Lana. Sadly, missed by his siblings Edward “Eddie” (Paula), Elizabeth “Betty” Douglas (Chuck), Patricia Fortin (late Jack), Kathleen Mahon (late John) (Lyle Taylor), Peter (Claudia), Frances O’Hara (Michael) and Barney (late Liz) (Agathe Dubé). John is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Robert “Bobby” (Pauline) and his sisters Ann, Geraldine and Eileen (Ben Fox). There will be no visitation. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated on Saturday January 6, 2018 at the Saint Finnan Cathedral, 72 St. Paul Street, Alexandria, at 12:30PM.
