Sister Huguette Houle (Sister Jeanne de l’Eucharistie) of the Sisters of the Presentation, passed away on December 29, 2017 at the age of 90 years at Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert, SK. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Chapel of the Presentation of Mary, 1405 Bishop Pascal Place, Prince Albert, SK, on January 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. by The Most Reverend Albert Thévenot, M. Afr., Bishop of Prince Albert. She is survived by one sister, Dolorèse, and one brother, Guy. Sister Huguette was born on May 14, 1927, in Bellevue, SK. She comes from a family of eleven boys and two girls. In 1946, Sister Huguette entered the order of the Presentation of Mary. After her teacher’s college in Saskatoon, she started her teaching career of 37 years in Spiritwood, Green Lake, Debden, St. Paul’s school in Prince Albert, Vawn, SK and in St. Lazare, MB. Sister Huguette was loved by her students for her enthusiasm, creativity and kindness. She was an effective and efficient teacher. When she retired from teaching, Sister Huguette didn’t retire fully but continued teaching Bible classes in Winnipeg, MB, Melfort and North Battleford, SK. In 2001, she retired to our Infirmary in Prince Albert, SK. During that time, Sister Huguette kept busy with her hobbies. We remember her creativity at making cards for all occasions to help the poor of Peru. She often had a project going to help the underprivileged missions. Sister Huguette will be remembered for her kind spirit, the joy of peaceful living which has touched many lives. The Sisters will also remember her for her profound fidelity to prayer and her sincerity in the service of God. May the Lord welcome her now as she journeys into His loving arms. Interment to take place in the Sister’s Section of South Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, Paula Hanson, Funeral Director.
