Albert James (Jim) Gould
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Albert Gould, 77, of Glace Bay at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on January 7, 2018 with his best friend by his side. Born in Glace Bay on November 15, 1940, he was the son of the late William and Florence (Murphy) Gould. Jim was a proud retiree of the Canadian Armed Forces and loved to tell stories of his service, travels, and escapades. He was a one-of-a-kind man with a great sense of humour who loved all animals dearly. He was also a lover of all sports and was a diehard fan of the Montreal Canadians and the Toronto Blue Jays. Jim is survived by his best friend, Cathy Hill of Glace Bay; his two children, Robbie and Shelly grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents Jim was predeceased by brothers, Bob, John (Bud) and Fabian; sisters,Evelyn Jessome, Delores Kurt and Winnifred Hagedorn as well as his best buddy, Charles Gillis.
Special Thanks to the staff at Taigh Na Mara nursing home where Jim resided for the past 2 years for their kindness and compassion. Also many thanks; to the staff at the Glace Bay Hospital ER as well as the ER, CCU and Palliative care units at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. Following Jim’s wishes there will be no service but there will be a small graveside service at a later date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the IWK and/or the local branch of the SPCA.
