It is with great sadness that we, the family of Glenice Sheppard, announce her passing on January 5, 2018 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
She was born July 6, 1943 to her parents, Tom and Dorothy Johnston of Whitney Pier.
Glennie always made everyone feel welcome in her home. Whether it was to talk, play TV bingo with her or to hear a joke, be it appropriate or otherwise. She loved all her neighbours and friends truly.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wayne Sheppard; and children Evelyn (Stephen), Janice (Glen), Marilyn (Donnie) and Tom (Vanessa). Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Faye (Michell) and brother, James Johnston (Rose).
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her older sister, Mima Stafford and her uncle, Cliff Mader.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in the spring.
We would like to say a very special thanks to the nurses and volunteers of the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and ask that donations may be made to Palliative Care Unit.
