It is with sadness that the family and friends of Lorne Paul Booth announces his passing on December 23rd, 2017 at the Sackville Hospital after a lengthy struggle to maintain his health.
A resident of Upper Rockport, New Brunswick for most of his life, he was born in 1941 and grew up in Montreal with three sisters, the only son of Hector Booth and Margaret (Doherty) Booth. He immigrated to New Brunswick in 1972 to work at Mount Allison University, and remained in New Brunswick the rest of his life.
He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Norma, Vivian and Eleanor, as well as by his step-daughter, Suzanne.
Lorne is survived by his children, Andrea, Belinda and Craig (Joyce Gray) and Kelly and Sean (Sally Wallingford) and his "good-bye girl" Susan Purdy.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Lorne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a "Time of Remembrance" will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 from 3-5 pm at Marshlands Inn, 55 Bridge, Sackville for all who knew him and want to remember.
