Crowell, Shirley Irene – Age 83, it is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Irene Crowell on January 9, 2018, in the IC unit of the Colchester East Hants Health, Truro, with her family by her side. Shirley was born in Truro, and was a loving and much loved mother. She was predeceased by her former partner Marshall Hutt, daughter Paulette MacDonald and great- grandson Dawson MacDonald.
She is survived by sons Ron Lynds, West Bay; Scott (Cecilia) Lynds, Lower Sackville; Court (Claudette) Lynds, Lantz; Terry (Sherri) Crowell, Brookfield; grandsons, Todd (Marilyn) MacDonald, Travis MacDonald, Coby Crowell, Keegan Crowell; granddaughter, Emmi Lynds; brother, John (Beverly) Hutchinson; sister, Ruth (Hugh) Lambourne.
Shirley was a renowned cook whose greatest satisfaction was knowing that everyone who left her welcoming home went content with a full belly and a “goody bag” to boot.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., in Truro Fire Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Brigadoon or a charity of your choice.
