Allan "Bud" Cameron Works

Allan “Bud” Cameron Works – 79, East Mountain, passed away January 10, 2018 at home after fighting cancer the way he lived life – with a positive attitude and without complaint. He was born in Truro Heights on September 1, 1938 to the late Clarence and Gwen (Hughes) Works. Bud worked as a truck driver, mechanic and for 24 years with Domtar/Stella Jones before retiring 20 years ago. Being a father made Bud happy and he loved his girls. Being a grandfather put him over the moon and each and every grandchild held a special place in his heart. Nothing made him happier than family gatherings on the mountain. The door was always open for anyone to pop in for a drink, card game or just a few laughs. He loved music, old western movies, Keiths Beer and chauffeuring Dorothy to yard sales every Saturday morning. He also enjoyed a good nap on the couch under his napping hat. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He had an amazing outlook on life and enjoyed every minute.
He is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Dorothy (Stewart); five daughters, Jeannie (Brian) Stewart, Kathy (Jim) Corbett, Wendy (Joe) Gould, Sonya (John) Gould, Sherry Works (Greg Penny); grandchildren, Allan (Melissa), Stacey (Rick), Andy (Vicki), Alicia, Savannah, Hannah and Jonas; great grandchildren, Ricky, Paige, Tristan and Jonathan; brothers, Keith (Pearl), Junior (Mary) and Don; many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Bud was predeceased by daughter, Tracey in infancy; brother, Lloyd and sisters, Betty and Eileen. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, January 13 from 6-7:30pm followed by Celebration of Life Service at 7:30pm. Reception will follow. Spring Interment in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Bud’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care or to the VON. The family wish to thank Dr. Michael Murray, VON Home Care Workers and the Palliative Care Team for the amazing care Dad received.
