Thompson, Hugh W., 71 of St. Paul’s, Pictou County went home to be with his Lord on January 22, 2018 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow he was the youngest son of the late Harry and Alice(Williams)Thompson.
He lived in St. Paul’s most of his life. Hugh worked a few years doing construction, then went on to work at Maritime Steel and Foundries as a Machinist, and later as a sales representative for the company. He later became a sale representative for Armtec Construction Highway products from where he retired in 2014.
Hugh was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Westville where he enjoyed Bible studies and fellowship with his friends on Tuesday nights. Hugh always looked forward to Saturday mornings at the A&W with his friends for breakfast and coffee.
He is survived by his daughters: Catherine(Bruce)Enfield, Blue Mountain; Melissa Thompson(Steve Leslie),Whitby, Ontario; grandchildren: Emily, Kirk, Storm and Katie Enfield, Spencer and Holden Leslie, sister-in-law Kay Thompson, several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Linda DeWolfe, a son Leslie Michael, brothers Harry Jr. and David.
His remains will rest at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday from where funeral services will be held 11am Friday with Pastor Ryan King presiding. Burial will take place in the Bridgeville Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Hugh may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
