CHARLES WAYNE DUNPHY, 72
Charles “Wayne” Dunphy, age 72, of Lower Onslow, passed away Wednesday night, January 17, 2018 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre surrounded by his loving family. Born November 16th, 1945, in Port Greville, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Lena Marsh and grandson of the late Mary Dunphy.
Wayne was an iron worker by trade for more than 40 years. He enjoyed carpentry and classic cars, but his real passion was music, especially Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. In his spare time he also enjoyed going to community dances with his darling wife and socializing with the numerous friends he had made over his years.
He is predeceased by his brother Laverne of Port Greville. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Helen Dale Dunphy (Davis); along with two daughters; Angela (Perry) Andrews of Edmonton, Alberta and Shelley (Troy) Nelson of Calgary, Alberta; 1 grandchild Brayden Charles Andrews; two siblings, Darlene (Michael) Taggart of Truro, Nova Scotia and Susan Marsh of Halifax, Nova Scotia; and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
Memorial services for Wayne will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at the Peniel United Church in Five Islands with Reverend Florence Antle-Brison officiating. Burial will follow in Peniel United Church Cemetery. Well-wishers may visit with the family at the Five Islands Fire Hall following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Peniel United Church or the Five Islands Fire Hall.
